Burnished Silver Eagles
The Burnished American Silver Eagle was first released into the market in 2006 as a part of the 20th Anniversary American Silver Eagle three coin collection. The U.S. Mint also offered the Burnished Silver Eagle outside the Anniversary set from 2006 to 2009 and in each year since 2010. The Burnished Silver Eagle remains the lowest minted version of the most collected coin in the world. The dies and planchets undergo special treatment in which they polished to a mirror shine to give the surfaces a collector finish. Each Burnished Silver Eagle bears the 'W' mint mark.
