The inaugural year of the classic Type-1 Silver American Eagle design. The obverse features Adolph A. Weinman's classic Lady Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.

The reverse design features John Mercanti's depiction of the heraldic eagle with shield, an olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left.

This coin is certified First Strike (struck within the first 30 days of issue) by PCGS in perfect-strike MS70 and features the First Strike Flag label.
