1987 was the second year of the American Gold Eagle program. The Mint produced a small quantity of 131,255 coins while they assessed the demand for this new bullion program. The population is just 144 coins as of January 2023. So few of these coins have ever made it into a MS70 holder so the window is small to be able to acquire one. Enjoy a great rpice on this rare 1987 $25 1/2 oz Gold Eagle NGC MS70 Frost (Busiek) Signed in the U.S. Mint Designer Series label.
