This silver dollar was issued to commemorate Crispus Attucks' 275th birthday. Attucks is widely believed to be the first person to die during the Boston Massacre. His death was one of the key leading points to the American Revolution.

The obverse, designed by John Mercanti, features a portrait of Crispus Attucks. The reverse, Ed Dwight, shows the proposed Black Patriots Memorial.

This coin was minted in San Francisco and was graded as MS70 by NGC.
