This silver dollar was issued to commemorate the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Utah. Part of the sales for this coin were used to support the Olympic Games.

The obverse, designed by John Mercanti, features the geometric snowflake logo for the 2002 Winter Olympics. The reverse, designed by Donna Weaver, features the Salt Lake City skyline with the Rocky Mountains in the background.

This coin was minted in Philadelphia and was graded as MS70 by NGC.
