This gold coin was issued to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, the first English settlement.
The obverse, designed by John Mercanti, shows Captain John Smith and the Native American Chief Powhatan. The reverse, designed by Susan Gamble, shows the only remaining building from the settlement - the Jamestown Memorial Church.
This coin was minted at West Point and was graded as MS70 by NGC.
