2018 W $5 Gold Breast Cancer Awareness 2 Coin Set PCGS MS70/PR70 DCAM First Strike First Day of Issue with 2 Coin Wood Case
In partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the U.S. Mint has issued the Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Collection featuring a first-of-a-kind issue. The goal is to spread awareness of this major epidemic and provide funding for research to improve outcomes and save lives. Best of all, a portion of the Mint’s revenue and PCGS’s grading fees on this program are directly going to benefit breast cancer research that will greatly benefit future generations. The gold coins are produced in a rose gold color, a first for the U.S. Mint.
The obverse features two women. The older woman has her hands on her chest and a relieved expression on her face. The younger woman, with a scarf on her head, holds one hand over her chest and the other raised in a fist as if she is ready to fight. A butterfly flies above the two women. Inscriptions include “LIBERTY,” “2018,” and “IN GOD WE TRUST.”
The reverse depicts a Tiger Swallowtail butterfly in flight, a symbol of hope. Inscriptions are:

This two-coin set features one mint state and one proof gold $5 piece, each containing one-quarter ounce of gold. The composition consists of 85% gold, 14.8% copper and 0.2% zinc, resulting in a stunning pink hue.
