The largest rifle shooting contest in the world happens in Switzerland every year. The Swiss Shutzenfest began in 1824 and the Swiss governement started minting shootingtalers to commemorate it in 1842. Each year, the Swiss Mint produces only 1,000 of these coins and less than 600 of those are graded.
The obverse of the 2021 Shootingtaler features the goddess Helvetia, the personification of the Swiss Confederacy. The reverse shows the Lion of Lucerne, a famous monument in Switzerland dedicated to the Swiss Guards who were killed during the French Revolution.
This 2021 Swiss Shootinglater was graded as PF69 Ultra Cameo by NGC.
