The 2022 2 oz Silver Saint-Gaudens Half Eagle Super Incuse Commemorative combines the beauty of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' designs with modern-day innovation. Minted in 2 oz of 99.9% fine silver, this coin features a dynamic super incuse strike on both the obverse and reverse while maintaining the integrity of America's most beautiful coin design.
Each commemorative coin comes certified by NGC as First Releases, with a perfect grade of SP70 and the exclusive Augustus Saint-Gaudens label. In addition, each label comes hand-signed by the 12th Chief Engraver of the U.S. Mint, John Mercanti, who is responsible for recreating the model of Saint-Gauden's eagle in flight depicted on the reverse.
Design
The obverse features Augustus Saint-Gaudens' famed Double Eagle design. Lady Liberty strides forward with unwavering determination, displaying strength and elegance as she carries a torch and olive branch—a timeless emblem of peace.
The reverse depicts the fierce beauty and freedom of a bald eagle as it soars proudly through the sky. The sun also emerges from the bottom of the coin, with rays of light extending the length of the coin as if they are shining behind the eagle.
