The United States Mint American Liberty Silver Medal celebrates modern interpretations of the concept of American Liberty, exploring the theme beyond the classical tradition of portraits of allegorical “Liberty.” Since its establishment more than 225 years ago, the United States Mint has issued a vast array of coins with the concept of liberty personified by allegorical figures. The 2023 American Liberty Silver Medal offers a different interpretation—a bold and breathtaking representation of the determination and power of the passion for American liberty.
The 2023 American Liberty Silver Medal is composed of 1.000 troy ounce of 99.9% silver and features the "P" mint mark.
The obverse (heads) depicts a bristlecone pine, a tree species indigenous to California, Nevada, and Utah, and believed to be the most ancient living beings on the planet, with lifespans of up to 5,000 years. Bristlecone pines thrive in locations where most other plants cannot survive, and they are often the first species to repopulate an area following significant environmental changes, like lava run or glacial runoff. The inscriptions on this side read "LIBERTY," "WE SHALL PERSEVERE," and "2023."
The reverse (tails) features an adolescent bald eagle perched on a rocky ledge just before it launches into flight, bearing the inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA."
The 2023 American Liberty Silver Medal is cherished by collectors—so don’t miss this opportunity to include it in your collection!
