Launched in 1986, the American Silver Eagle is the United States' official silver bullion coin, symbolizing liberty and prestige. It is a staple among collectors and is the most collected modern silver coin in the world!
This 2024-S $1 Proof Silver Eagle is struck from 1 oz of .999 fine silver at the San Francisco Mint, renowned for its exceptional craftsmanship of proof coinage. Each coin is certified by PCGS as First Day of Issue and graded a perfect-strike PR70 Deep Cameo, featuring the PCGS First Day of Issue Flag label.
The obverse features of Adolph A. Weinman's classic Walking Liberty design, enhanced by modern minting to fully capture the finest details of Weinman's original design. The design depicts Liberty in full stride towards a rising sun, enveloped in the stars and stripes of the American flag, carrying branches of laurel and oak in her left hand, with her right extended in a welcoming gesture.
The reverse, designed by AIP Designer Emily Damstra and sculpted by Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso, features a majestic Bald Eagle preparing to land, clutching an oak branch within its talons as if to add it to its nest. The oak branch represents strength and endurance, adding a symbolic layer to the eagle's embodiment of freedom. Surrounding the eagle are the inscriptions "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR."
