The 1776-2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin is the first circulating coin in U.S. history to feature a sitting president. Issued as part of the U.S. Mint's Semiquincentennial coin program, this one-year-only design commemorates the Commander in Chief who served during America's 250th anniversary.

Of the millions produced by the Philadelphia Mint, only 250,000 of these coins were struck on July 4th and bear the July 4th Privy Mark. This limited variety was randomly mixed into bags and rolls of standard 2026 Trump dollars rather than offered separately by the U.S. Mint.

Coin Design

• Obverse — Created by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, the obverse was inspired by an official White House photograph taken by Daniel Torok. This limited variety bears the "JULY 4TH" Privy Mark beside the portrait.
• Reverse — Frank Gasparro's Presidential Seal design from the Kennedy Half Dollar appears on another U.S. coin denomination for the first time. It depicts a heraldic eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, with "250" added to the shield to mark America's 250th anniversary.

July 4th Privy Mark

The July 4th Privy Mark coins cannot be purchased directly from the U.S. Mint. Instead, they were randomly mixed into bags and rolls of standard 2026 Trump dollars, meaning collectors must search through the regular issues to find one of the 250,000 coins.

Each certified July 4th Privy Mark Trump $1 Coin also includes a 25-coin roll of standard, non-privy-mark dollars.

A Presidential First

The 1776-2026 Donald Trump $1 Coin is the first U.S. circulating coin to feature a sitting president. While Calvin Coolidge was in office when he appeared on the 1926 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, it was issued as a commemorative coin, not part of the nation's circulating coinage.
