The 1776-2026 President Donald J. Trump $1 Coin is the first circulating coin in U.S. history to feature a sitting president. Issued as part of the U.S. Mint's Semiquincentennial coin program, this one-year-only design commemorates the Commander in Chief who served during America's 250th anniversary.

Coin Design

• Obverse — Created by U.S. Mint Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, the obverse was inspired by an official White House photograph taken by Daniel Torok.
• Reverse — Frank Gasparro's Presidential Seal design from the Kennedy Half Dollar appears on another U.S. coin denomination for the first time. It depicts a heraldic eagle holding an olive branch and arrows, with "250" added to the shield to mark America's 250th anniversary.

A Presidential First

The 1776-2026 Donald Trump $1 Coin is the first U.S. circulating coin to feature a sitting president. While Calvin Coolidge was in office when he appeared on the 1926 Sesquicentennial Half Dollar, it was issued as a commemorative coin, not part of the nation's circulating coinage.
