As the United States celebrates its Semiquincentennial, Coin Advisor introduces the exclusive NGC 1776 Freedom Label to commemorate the nation's 250th anniversary. In recognition of this milestone, the 1776-2026 W $1 Proof American Silver Eagle carries a dual date and Liberty Bell privy mark, marking the first time any American Silver Eagle has been struck with a dual date.
The American Eagle Program also celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026. Struck at the West Point Mint from 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver, the 1776-2026 W $1 Proof American Silver Eagle is limited to a mintage of 500,000.
Created for America’s Semiquincentennial, the 1776 Freedom Label draws from the nation’s founding era and is reserved for select 2026 U.S. Mint releases. Each label is hand-signed by Michael Gaudioso, engraver of the Type 2 American Silver Eagle reverse.
Each coin is certified by NGC as PF 70 Ultra Cameo and designated Advance Releases.
Introduced in 1986 under the Liberty Coin Act, the American Silver Eagle is the official silver bullion coin of the United States and the most collected silver coin in the world. Originally designed by John Mercanti and featuring Adolph A. Weinman's Walking Liberty, the series symbolizes American craftsmanship and liberty.
In 2021, the series underwent its first major redesign, featuring an enhanced obverse and a new reverse designed by Emily Damstra and sculpted by Michael Gaudioso. This redesign also added advanced security features, ensuring the coin's lasting appeal and integrity for collectors worldwide.
