This silver dollar was minted to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Thomas Edison's demonstration of the electric lightbulb on October 21, 1879.
The obverse, designed by Donna Weaver, shows Edison holding a lightbulb. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, shows Edison's first light bulb with the years 1879 and 2004.
This coin was minted at Philadelphia and was graded as MS70 by NGC.
