The new Animals of Africa series, issued for the first time in 2021, features some of the most dangerous creatures in the animal kingdom. There are currently only four releases in the series, the Nile Crocodile, the African Lion, the African Elephant, and the Black Rhino. However, depending on the series' success, more animals may be on the way!
The third release in the Animals of Africa series is this stunning African Elephant. The coin was struck in a full ounce of highly pure .9999 silver in the shape of an elephant and features a detailed depiction of the creature on the reverse side of the coin. The detail is so exquisite, you can see every wrinkle on the elephants hide, realistically capturing the beauty of this magnificent beast. The coin's obverse is covered with a scale-like pattern and the portrait of her Majesty Queen Elizabeth I.
Issued on behalf of the Solomon Islands, these $2 legal-tender coins were struck by Switzerland-based Produits Artistiques Métaux Précieux (PAMP SA). Not only do these coins have a unique shape, but they were also struck with a remarkable Reverse Proof finish that features mirror-like details rising over frosted fields. Each coin will come sealed in a custom acrylic holder and housed in its original mint packaging that consists of a themed display box accompanied by the Certificate of Authenticity. These coins are each engraved with an individual serial number to the left of the Queen's portrait.
