In 2006, the U.S. Mint released their first ever Burnished Silver Eagle. It stands as the lowest minted Silver Eagle produced annually for collectors. The obverse design features a modern rendition of Adolph A. Weinman's classic Lady Liberty and the reverse features a heraldic eagle with a shield. The new Type 2 reverse was designed by Canadian designer Emily Damstra.
