The 2024 & 2025 Great Britain 2 oz Silver Waterloo Medal Two-Coin Set brings to life one of the Royal Mint’s greatest unstruck works—Benedetto Pistrucci’s legendary Waterloo Medal. Over two centuries after its creation, this set revives a long-delayed tribute to the historic Allied victory that reshaped Europe.
Each 2 oz silver coin in this set is struck with a matte proof finish and certified NGC PF70 as Advance Releases, featuring the exclusive Royal Mint label hand-signed by Martin Jennings, designer of King Charles III’s official effigy.
Commissioned in 1819 to honor the Allied forces that defeated Napoleon, Pistrucci’s Waterloo Medal became a masterwork of classical engraving. But despite decades of work, the dies were never used due to their massive size and the Mint’s fear of cracking them. Until now.
2024 Victory Coin: An allegorical depiction of triumph over tyranny
2025 Allied Leaders Coin: Portraits of the four sovereigns—George IV, Francis II of Austria, Alexander I of Russia, and Frederick William III of Prussia—united in a shared legacy
Both coins feature the effigy of King Charles III on the obverse.
This set is certified by NGC as Advance Releases, a designation given to no more than 10% of the total mintage and available only through select dealers. Each coin has been graded PF70 Matte, indicating a flawless strike.
Each coin includes the Royal Mint label hand-signed by Martin Jennings, the renowned sculptor behind the current royal effigy. His signature connects this modern release to both artistic tradition and royal legacy.
