The Canada Peace Dollar has quickly become a cornerstone of Canadian numismatics. For 2025, the Royal Canadian Mint has commissioned the series' first-ever design change featuring the work of retired Royal Canadian Mint Senior Engraver Susan Taylor. Rather than starting from scratch, the design features a "zoomed-out" perspective of Taylor's original Peace Dollar design. Lady Peace is showcased in a breathtaking full-body display as she strides along Canada's coastline. This year's release also features the effigy of King Charles III, making it the first Peace Dollar to feature Canada's newly adopted royal portrait. With a dazzling proof finish and exceptionally low mintage, this is a must-have for collectors.

First Day of Issue
Each 2025 $50 Canada 5 oz Proof Silver Peace Dollar comes certified by PCGS as First Day of Issue. PCGS has also guaranteed that each coin is flawless and has a perfect grade of PR70 DCAM. On the Sheldon Grading Scale, 70 is the maximum grade a coin or medal can attain. It is only given to coins and medals with no post-production imperfections visible when viewed under 5x magnification by trained PCGS graders.
Low Mintage
With highly limited mintages, these coins are among the most exclusive Peace Dollars yet. Only 2,000 5 oz silver coins have been authorized by the Royal Canadian Mint for worldwide release.
Unique Proof Finish
With just a glance, you immediately notice that this release features more than just a simple proof finish. Traditionally, proof coins carry a beautiful array of frosted devices set against mirror-like polished fields. However, this showcases a variety of finishes used to accentuate the detail and craft of Taylor's incredible design. The stunning effect created by this technique is unlike anything else in the Peace Dollar series. The sky and ocean are treated with polished surfaces, while Lady Peace and the sand on the coastline are treated with high frost. The clouds, sun, and maple leaves Lady Peace strides atop are treated similarly to a satin finish.
Canada Peace Dollar Series
The Canada Peace Dollar, introduced in 2020, honors Lady Peace, the personification of peace inspired by the Canadian War Memorial in Ottawa, Canada. Each year features unique finishes and plating techniques that showcase the Royal Canadian Mint's innovation and craftsmanship. The series celebrates Canada's values of peace and unity. These values are reflected in Lady Peace's design, which is adorned with symbols of olive branches and maple leaves. With low mintages and exclusive design elements, the Peace Dollar series has become a favorite among collectors worldwide. In 2025, the series underwent its first major design change. Retired Senior Engraver of the Royal Canadian Mint and acclaimed numismatic artist Susan Taylor expanded her iconic Lady Peace bust into a full-body depiction, striding along Canada's coastline. This year also marked the first appearance of King Charles III's effigy on the Peace Dollar, marking a new chapter in the series.
